Five wavelengths.
Always together.
These wavelengths can be absorbed by cells. Research looks at how that relates to the energy a cell makes. Red is the part you can see, taken up mostly at the skin. Near-infrared is invisible and reaches further.

- Visible red. Most of it is absorbed at the surface of the skin. Research on 630nm looks at skin.
- 660nm
- Visible red, a little longer than 630. Still a surface wavelength, and the red most devices use. Research on 660nm looks at skin.
- 810nm
- Near-infrared. You cannot see it. Blood and water absorb less of it than red, so more of it passes the surface. Research on 810nm looks at muscle and tissue further in.
- 830nm
- Near-infrared, close to 810. Invisible, and further in than red. One of the near-infrared wavelengths most often used in that research.
- 850nm
- Near-infrared, the longest of the five. Still in the range that reaches further than red, so a session is not only the glow you can see. Research around 850nm looks at muscle and recovery.
How a session works
Intensity, time, and distance.
Wattage is what the panel draws from the wall. Dose is the light that lands on your skin: irradiance, in mW/cm², multiplied by time. Each panel publishes its irradiance at a stated distance.
- Bare skin. Clothing blocks most of this light.
- 15 to 30 cm. Closer concentrates it. Further covers more of you. Keep the same distance each time.
- About ten minutes. Longer is not automatically better. A moderate dose is the aim.

Before you buy
Half Body covers your upper or lower body and suits a smaller space. Full Body covers more of the front of your body in one session, with nothing to reposition. Both run the same five wavelengths on a timer.
It's up to you. Half Body leans neatly against a wall, or a stand keeps it at the right height and ready for every session. The Vertical / horizontal stand also lets you use it upright or lying flat.
